Compress Video Online

Make a clip small enough to send. Pick a preset, and see the real size before and after.

By using ReelNab you agree to the Terms. Download only content you have the right to use.

A clip straight off a modern phone is enormous: a minute of 4K can run past 300 MB, which is more than most chat apps will carry and more than anyone wants to wait for.

Compression trades some detail for a much smaller file. Each preset sets a limit on the longer edge of the frame and how hard the encoder squeezes, and the page reports the real size before and after so you can judge the result rather than trust a promise.

How to compress video online

  1. 1

    Upload your clip

Drop an MP4, MOV or WEBM into the box, or tap it to pick a file.

  2. 2

    Choose a preset

Sending on WhatsApp, posting on Telegram, or smallest file. Audio is kept unless you turn it off.

  3. 3

    Download the smaller file

Press Process, check the before and after sizes, and save the MP4.

Why use ReelNab

Three honest presets

Each one names what it is for. The page shows the size you actually got instead of claiming a number in advance.

Long edge, not height

The cap applies to the longer side, so portrait and landscape clips are treated the same way.

Never upscaled

A clip already smaller than the preset keeps its size. Compression does not invent detail.

Audio on by default

The sound track is kept and re-encoded small. You can drop it entirely for a silent clip.

Fast start

The MP4 index is written at the front so the file starts playing instantly.

Private

Files are processed in a private temp folder with a random name and deleted within minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Will my file fit the limit of my chat app?

Often, but nobody can promise it. Messenger limits change and some clips resist compression. The page shows the real size before and after so you can check.

How much smaller will it get?

It depends on the clip. Footage with a lot of motion compresses less than a static shot. The before and after sizes are shown when it finishes.

Will it look worse?

Some detail is lost, which is the trade. On a phone screen the difference is usually hard to see.

Which preset should I pick?

The WhatsApp one is the most aggressive and aims at a small send. Telegram keeps more quality. Smallest file is for storage and archives.

Can I remove the audio?

Yes. Audio is kept by default; turning it off makes the file smaller again.

What is the largest file I can upload?

Up to 1 GB, and up to 60 minutes long.
